If you work in communications, IT, or with sensitive internal information, you already know that video is no longer just marketing. It’s leadership updates, internal training, financial briefings, and sometimes information that simply cannot leak.
At the same time, security requirements are getting stricter, regulations are evolving, and expectations are higher. Yet, many platforms still treat security as an add-on, not something built into the core.
Almost every provider says they take security seriously. But it often does not take much to see where things fall short:
- Weak access control
- Limited transparency around data handling
- Reliance on infrastructure that introduces legal grey areas
At Quickchannel, we decided that “good enough” security is not enough. Our ambition is to build the most secure video platform, and that means doing the work properly, across every layer of the product.
Security is not a feature. It is the foundation.
We have built our platform with security as a core principle, not something added afterwards. That means following established standards like ISO 27001, working continuously with industry best practices, and completing our ISO 27001 certification this year.
It also means designing the platform to reduce risk from the start. Our service is built as distributed components, running across multiple data centers with redundancy. If something fails, the system keeps running. If demand increases, it scales. Security and stability go hand in hand.
We are deliberate about where your data lives (GDPR).
One of the clearest differences between platforms is infrastructure choices. Many rely heavily on US-based cloud providers by default. That can work well technically, but it also introduces legal complexity that is not always clearly communicated.
Under laws such as the Cloud Act or FISA 702, US companies can, in some situations, be required to provide access to data, even if it’s stored outside the United States.
We take a more deliberate approach. Quickchannel’s core platform is built on European-based infrastructure, designed to give full control over where data is stored and processed. For specific features, customers can choose to enable sub-processors outside of the EU, with full transparency and control. Because security is not only about technology, it is also about jurisdiction.
Protection is applied to every layer.
Your data is protected both in transit and at rest. All communication is encrypted. Stored data is encrypted. Backups are encrypted and stored separately. At the same time, even though the platform is shared, your data is logically separated from other customers. You share the infrastructure, not the access.
Access is controlled, not assumed.
One of the most common weak points in security is access. We take a stricter approach. Multi-factor authentication is available for standard login, or single sign-on can be used, allowing organisations to manage access through their own identity provider and enforce their own security policies.
Access is role-based, meaning people only see what they are supposed to see. Internally, access is granted only when needed, and everything is logged and traceable.
You also control who can watch your content. Security is not just about systems. It is also about your videos. With Quickchannel, you decide who can view your content and where it can be viewed. You can restrict access by IP, by location, by domain, or require users to log in before watching. Whether you are sharing internal updates or external events, you stay in control.
Security is continuous, not reactive.
A secure platform is not something you set once; it’s something you maintain.
- We monitor our systems around the clock.
- We run regular security scans.
- We perform penetration testing.
- We follow OWASP Top 10 Guidelines & Mitigation
If something does happen, we have clear processes to handle it quickly and properly. No guesswork, no delays.
What makes this different
Many platforms offer parts of this; encryption, access control, or monitoring in isolation. The difference is how it all fits together. At Quickchannel, security is part of:
- How the platform is built
- How data is handled
- How access is controlled
- How risks are managed over time
It is not one feature. It is the full system.
This is what real security looks like
For us, security is not a claim; it’s a continuous effort. It’s how we build the platform, control access, protect data, and respond when things don’t go as planned.
It’s easy to say you take security seriously. It’s much harder to prove it. That’s exactly what we are doing.
