Overview

The Salesforce connector enables seamless synchronisation between Quickchannel and Salesforce, allowing video registrations, viewer engagement, and follow-up activities to be managed automatically within Salesforce. By connecting the two systems, organisations can reduce manual work while ensuring consistent data flow between platforms.

The integration supports both Salesforce Sales Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, making it suitable for teams working across both sales and marketing. It is designed to improve lead handling by making viewer behaviour directly available in Salesforce, enabling more informed and timely follow-up.

Key benefits

With the Salesforce connector, lead creation from video registrations is handled automatically, eliminating the need for manual data entry. Viewer behaviour, including registrations and video views, is synchronised directly to Salesforce, giving teams better visibility into engagement.

The integration is built on a clean data model using explicit identifiers, which improves matching accuracy and reduces the risk of errors or duplicate records. It is also designed to be GDPR-friendly, requires minimal administration, and can be extended with additional engagement data or campaign-related functionality if needed.

Supported scenarios

The connector supports two primary use cases, depending on where registrations are managed.

When registrations are handled via Salesforce, leads are created in Salesforce CRM through a web form and linked to a Quickchannel event, whether live or on-demand, using the Quickchannel Media ID. After synchronisation, participants receive a personalised email containing a link to the video, and their viewing activity is tracked back into Salesforce CRM.

When registrations are instead made directly in Quickchannel, the data can be synchronised to Salesforce CRM by tagging relevant videos for sync. Each viewer is then created as a Lead in Salesforce, and their viewing activity generates Salesforce Tasks linked to the Lead, ensuring engagement is captured and actionable within the CRM.

How it works

The integration is built around Salesforce Leads and Tasks to track both registrations and viewing activity. Media ID and Media URL are stored on the Activity object, with Task used as the primary object for synchronisation. Each time a user interacts with a video, a new Task is created, building a clear activity timeline for every Lead.

When a user submits a registration, a Lead and a related Task are created in Salesforce. The Task initially contains the Media Title and Media ID and is set to “Not Started”. Once synchronisation with Quickchannel is complete, the Media URL is added and a personalised viewing link is sent to the participant. When the video is viewed, the Task is updated to “Completed”.

To ensure correct data handling, Name, Email, and Company are required for Lead creation, together with the Media ID. If certain fields are missing in Quickchannel registrations, they are automatically populated based on the available data.

Additional Salesforce automation can be applied throughout the flow, such as triggering emails or campaign activities based on user behaviour.

Implementation and setup

The connector is built as an extendable module and can be adapted to specific needs, such as adding contacts to Salesforce campaigns or enriching engagement data with metrics like viewing time.

The integration is implemented and managed together with Arkido AB, which handles customisation and ensures that the setup aligns with each customer’s Salesforce environment.

Deployment can be done in multiple ways, including as a cloud-based microservice using AWS Lambda or Microsoft Functions, on a smaller server setup such as AWS Beanstalk, or within the customer’s own infrastructure.

The standard integration supports registrations via both Quickchannel and Salesforce and is offered as a monthly service with a one-time start cost. Any additional customisation is scoped and priced separately.
